Top Harness Racing during the Classic Series

The Classic Series is a harness racing series that takes place in four stages. There are three preliminary legs to the series, and to be eligible for the finals in the Classic Series participating horses must race in at least two of the preliminary rounds. The four main races consist of the Classic Distaff, Classic Oaks, Pacing Classic and the Trotting Classic. On Monday, the 7th of April, the first round of the fifteen race program will kick off the Classic Series, with the second leg being hosted by the Mohawk Racetrack on 31 May 2008, whilst the third leg will be held at Meadowlands on the 19th of July 2008, and the $250 000 finals of the Classic Series will take place at Meadowlands on the 26th of July 2008.

The Florida Derby was inaugurated in 1952 and is a Grade 1 race, with a very attractive purse of $1 million. Hosted by Gulfstream Park Racecourse in Florida, this magnificent racing event will once again attract some of the top three-year-old horses on 29 March 2008. Top International Racing in Singapore this May

In the year 2000, the Singapore Racecourse was inaugurated in Kranji and the Singapore Airlines International Cup was held for the first time. It is the only horse racing event in Singapore that is open to international competitors and received its Group 1 status in 2002. During the first few years of this two thousand meter flat racing event, it seemed that the Asian countries would not be able to dominate the Singapore Airlines International Cup, but that all changed in 2006 and 2007, with two Japanese horses named Cosmo Bulk and Shadow Gate.

Don’t Miss the WinStar Derby on Sunday

The WinStar Derby is a relatively new racing event on the horse racing calendar, with its inaugural race being run in 2003. It is an official ungraded stakes race, which is run as a preparation meeting for the Kentucky Derby, and has become a favorite racing event for three year olds. The WinStar Derby is hosted by the Sunland Park Racetrack in New Mexico, and is sponsored by WinStar Farm. This year’s racing event is set to be another nail-biting, adrenalin pumping horse racing meet.
