Fasig-Tipton Texas Mixed Sale

Great excitement and anticipation is beginning to build around the Fasig-Tipton mixed sale, which will be taking place in Texas. The Fasig-Tipton Texas mixed sale will be hosted at the Lone Star Park, Grand Prairie, on the 14th of December 2008. Tim Boyce, the Director of Fasig-Tipton Texas, has commented that the breeding stock they have on sale this year is of a very high quality and he is pleased with the catalogue they have been able to put together for the sale.

In total, there will be two hundred and twenty-one horses on sale, of which thirty-five hips are yearling and horses of racing age, a hundred and forty-two horses consist of magnificent broodmares and mares in-foal, while the remaining forty-four are weanlings of great breeding. The Louisiana-bred horses are of particular interest to many buyers, as is the consignment that Lane’s End will be bringing to the sale.

The yearlings this year are set to cause quite a stir with horses such as AP Larkspur (Hip 208), a dark bay filly who is sired by AP Valentine and out of the mare Lea Larkspur. He’s No Rose (Hip 198) is a beautiful gray colt sired by Devon Lane out of Ashland Rose and the pairing of the successful sire Wimbledon and Madrona, has produced a lovely grey gelding, Centre Match (Hip 187). Amongst the two year olds, buyers have the opportunity to become owners of magnificent horses of racing age such as the Star Programmer dark bay colt Star’s Scooter (Hip 211) out of Sweet Escape and Jarrons Lil Cookie, a dark bay filly out of Dragon’s Whisper and sired by Favorite Trick. Top quality weanlings have also made it onto the catalogue, including Cascading Katee (Hip 146) out of the mare Mykato and High Cascade, and a dark bay filly (Hip 171) by Dixieland Heat, out of Gentilly. Of the broodmares, Hot Baby (Hip 122) sired by Lear Fan out of Cool Baby, is one of a few mares thought to be in foal, with Hot Baby believed to be in foal to Big Top Cat, and Choncho Valley (Sunny’s Halo out of Super Dreamer) has recently been covered by Ruler’s Court and is also thought to be in foal.

The above mentioned are only a few of the horses that are of note, as all the horses in the catalogue are of the highest quality breeding. Sire names such as Boundary, All Gone, Gold Fever, Hennessy, Langfuhr, Nelson, Seattle Slew, Tiznow, Unbridled, Gran Slam and Crafty Prospector also have their progeny in the catalog, guaranteeing that the sale will fetch above average prices.
