Force 3 for Horse Racing on Television

Three giants have come together for mega entertainment value for followers of horse racing.

Churchill Downs Incorporated is based in Louisville, Kentucky. It owns race tracks at top North American locations including Louisiana, Florida and Illinois apart from Kentucky. The Kentucky Derby, the Kentucky Oaks and the Louisiana Derby are amongst the most famous horse racing events hosted by Churchill Downs. The company is a leader in off-track horse racing betting and has major interests in Television as well.

Racing UK is a Television channel owned by leading race tracks in Great Britain. It is on air throughout England and Ireland between every Wednesday and the following Monday. It enjoys unprecedented popularity with many more paying viewers than it had planned. It operates a sports betting service with the country leading horse racing newspaper, the Racing Post.

Magna Entertainment Corporation is a major race track owner and leads all its North American peers in terms of revenues. It operates a pari-mutuel wagering system, which includes off-track sports betting. It owns PariMax, a subsidiary dedicated to satellite feeds and Internet gambling networks. Magna also owns a 24-hour horse racing television channel.

Churchill Downs, Racing UK and Magna have now come together to create a new television horse racing coverage service, covering both sides of the Atlantic. The new channel has been named Racing World.

What a great start to the new 2006 horse racing season!
