Gold Rush Fever

Now that the elimination races are over, drivers and their horses are getting ready for the Gold Rush, which will be held on Saturday, 28 June 2008, at Georgian Downs. Calling this horse racing event the Gold Rush is extremely appropriate as it is not only a night for the horses and drivers, but an evening filled with magnificent prizes and entertainment for the spectators. Organizers have pulled out all the stops to ensure that the 2008 Gold Rush is bigger and better than last year, and that spectators will enjoy every moment of their racing experience.

On the racing card, the Gold Rush has eight spectacular racing events in store. Four of the Masters Series Finals will be taking place on Saturday, as well as four of the Ontario Sire Stakes Gold Final races. It is going to a final showdown spectacular, with more than $1 million in total purse money at stake. With such breathtaking racing events scheduled for one evening, spectators will have the opportunity to see some of the best three year old horses perform in their respective divisions. It is set to be a racing extravaganza.

Not forgetting the spectators, the Gold Rush has magnificent prizes for one lucky spectator. Also, the first thousand spectators to enter the gates will receive a Gold Rush commemorative hat if they purchase a program for the horse racing and the evening’s events. One spectator will feel the pressure as they are confronted with a hundred golden boxes, which could hold that special prize. Somewhere amongst the boxes will be one brand new GMC pickup, ten all inclusive holiday trips and the chance to win from $2000 to $100 000.

Over and above the thrill of the racing and the prizes, the Gold Rush will have a range of fun activities for young and old. There will be face painters, a band, petting zoo, chariot rides, pony rides, a play centre where children will be able to meet Cinderella and Captain Jack Sparrow and mechanical bull rides, to name but a few activities.

Come and enjoy this top racing event. For an evening of excitement and entertainment, the Gold Rush is the place to be.
