Group 1 Dream for Brown

Sunday, the 29th of June 2008, is a big day for harness racing, as seven Group 1 races are in the line-up at Menangle Park Paceway. With the newly refurbished 1400 meter track, Menangle Park Paceway is ready for racing action. Four of the Group 1 Races on Sunday will form the New South Wales Sire Stakes Finals, where a brilliant field of horses will be waiting to battle it out for victory.

The Group 1 New South Wales Sire Stakes Finals consists of two $100 000 races for two year olds, both fillies and colts, and two $100 000 races for fillies and colts respectively, for three year olds. In the two year old fillies division, a few names such as the unbeaten Ananz, Duchess of Dubai, Jilliby Kate and Lucky Merrywood stand out. Amongst the colts and geldings division, spectators should be on the lookout for Hurricane Jett, Watch The Aces, Golden Market and Vernon.

For the three year old fillies, the field includes brilliant horses such as She’s Makin Waves, Lady Lexus and Esther Jane. Between contenders in the colts and geldings race, Jenna Rate, Esprit De Kayjay and Beach Fighter are amongst the favorites, but there will be another battle ensuing during this horse racing event. Standelle and his driver Jimmy Brown are hoping that they will be able to secure their first Group 1 win after coming third in the semi finals, right behind Decndice. Even though he will be looking to outwit Decndice in the finals on Sunday, Brown is aware of the fact that he will be competing against top class athletes and that a victory will not be easy. But Brown remains positive and believes in Standelle, that they have what it takes to perform magnificently, and that they stand as good a chance as any to win the New South Wales Sire Stakes Finals for three year olds.

Menangle Park Paceway is going to come alive with world class harness racing performances and will be one of the most anticipated events on the racing calendar this year. With so many Group 1 races in one day, it is a certainty that the horse racing action will be thrilling, explosive and unforgettable.
