Fonner Park is situated off Interstate 80 in the centre of Nebraska, Grand Island. Known as the State’s top entertainment destination, the park hosts a number of events, shows, fairs and more. However, the true heart of the park is the racetrack, which hosts a live thoroughbred racing every year from mid-February to mid-May. During this time the park comes alive and guests can enjoy craft shows, recreational shows and a variety of family activities. Of course, the highlight of the event are the special races such as the Bosselman/Gus Fonner Stakes which carry a $100,000 purse. Horses and jockeys come from around the country to participate in Nebraska’s richest horse race and thousands more come just for the fun of it. Fonner Park has plenty of free parking, a clubhouse, grandstands, Skyline, Box and Turf Club.

Once your favourite horse has run it’s race, you can also enjoy the facilities at the Fonner Keno Casino and Sports Lounge, ending a perfect day with some gambling and a superb meal. At other times during the year, Fonner Park also hosts a number of horse shows, Antique expos, home expos and agricultural expos as well as the Fonner Park State 4-H Horse Exposition, the hall County Fair and a few REACT Craft Shows.
