Kauto Star Tries For Number Three
The £225,000 Betfair Chase is one of the most anticipated jumps racing events of the year, as it is the first race in the Betfair Million Series and it is attended by the best horses in the jumps racing industry. Run at Haydock Park Racecourse, the Betfair Chase is a Grade 1 event for five year old horses and older, and its three mile course has eighteen fences. The Betfair Million Series also has a massive bonus for any horse who can win at least three of the series races. In 2006/2007, that bonus was paid out to Kauto Star, who had won the Cheltenham Gold Cup, the Betfair Chase and the King George VI Chase.
Kauto Star won the Betfair Chase in 2006, ridden by Ruby Walsh and in 2007 with Sam Thomas on board. This year, Kauto Star will be looking to win this prestigious event for a third time, and due to Walsh being injured, Thomas will again take him through his paces on Saturday. Kauto Star will most definitely be the big draw, with Haydock Park Racecourse being the venue, 22 November 2008 being the date and the first race getting underway at 12:30.
Haydock Park Racecourse is expecting approximately ten thousand spectators to attend the racing on Saturday, which will feature a number of quality racing events, such as the Betfair Fixed Brush Handicap Hurdle, with the main event being the Betfair Chase. Kauto Star will be finding himself up against a few formidable competitors such as Cloudy Lane, Exotic Dancer, Snoopy Loopy, Tamarinbleu, Ollie Magern and Gungadu. Even though Kauto Star has been named the favorite for winning the race, according to betting agencies, nothing is cast in stone when it comes to horse racing.
Other than trying to predict the winners in the horse racing events on Saturday, punters will be hoping to win the Tote’s Scoop6bet, which is worth in the millions, by predicting the winning horses in six televised racing events that are being run at various venues across Britain.
