Zenyatta Makes It Nineteen

Hollywood Park came alive with celebration and historical wonder as Zenyatta headed towards the finish line of her nineteenth career start and her nineteenth consecutive victory. This magnificent filly took the racing world by storm and has enjoyed winning a variety of prestigious events, as thirteern of her victories have been Grade 1 events, while a total of seventeen have been graded stakes events. Now all eyes are on Zenyatta, hoping she can make it twenty victories in a row.

Zenyatta was foaled in 2004, and did not embark on her horse racing career until late in her three-year-old season in 2007. She made her debut at the Hollywood Park Racecourse and has continued to thrill horse racing enthusiasts ever since that moment. Her victories have included the Apple Blossom Handicap, as well as winning events such as the Lady’s Secret Stakes, Vanity Handicap and Clement L Hirsch Handicap three years in a row. She is owned by Jerome Moss and his wife, and is trained by John Sherriffs. Her jockey is Mike Smith, and together this team has stood by Zenyatta while she came up against worthy competitors such as Gio Ponti, Mine That Bird and Sealy Hill.

Zenyatta is now considered to be one of the most successsful female horses of our time, as very few horses have been able to rake up as many consecutive victories as she has. Her total earnings has now exceeded $6 million, and she is officially the highest earning female horse. She will preparing for the Breeders’ Cup in the coming weeks.
