This is the second time that Welfare and Safety of the Racehorse Summit will be running. It is an important forum for the discussion of various issues related to the horse racing industry.
Description:
The morning session on 17 March will be open to the public. Dr. Mary Scollay will provide details on the progress of the on-track injury reporting system. Shoeing and hoof care, race conditions, racing surfaces, soft tissue injuries and more will also be discussed. Reports regarding the Sales Integrity Task Force and the use of medications will be considered.
A press conference is to be held on 18 March at 2:00 pm, and is closed to the public. Indeed, those in attendance will learn much from the fascinating Welfare and Safety of the Racehorse Summit. Several vital issues will be addressed and hopefully see various improvements in the future.
