Japan Cup - Japan, Tokyo
When: TBA, Sunday, 23 November 2008
Where: Tokyo Racecourse, Tokyo, Japan
Description:
The Japan Cup stands in a prestigious group as one of the richest races on the horse racing calendar, with a purse estimated at US$4.6 million.
This 2400 metre course over grass is one of the most anticipated races in the racing industry.
Although the Japan Cup’s history is short in comparison to some of the finest and longest racing courses still in existence today, it still holds itself in its own prominent category, being established as an invitational event only. It was through this that local racehorses have been given the opportunity to race against some of the greatest horses on the international circuit, as well as promoting generosity within the racing society worldwide.
It can certainly be said that having the chance to view the Japan Cup is like an absolute privilege, with some of the most electric finishes taking place in Japanese racing history.
