The Singapore Airlines International Cup is the only race in Singapore that is open to International competition, certainly making it unique.
It was in 2000 that Singapore Airlines sponsored what is now known as the Singapore International Cup. Just two years after its debut the International Cup attained Group 1 status.
Its at the Singapore Racecourse in Kranji, round about the middle of May, that the International Cup takes place. The race covers a distance of 2000 meters. It is a turf race for 3-year-olds and up, with a purse of S$ 3,000,000.
