Description:

The Apple Blossom Handicap is purely for fillies and mares from the ages of three and older, and is held in early April. These ‘Blossoms’ give a good run for your money.

It was in 1958 that the Apple Blossom Handicap made its debut run; however, it would be another five years before it would be held again. It was not until 1968 that this particular handicap race was officially held as an annual event with a purse of $500 000.00.


Today the Apple Blossom Handicap is recognised as a Graded Stake race, having previously run as a handicap. At present the race is run over a distance of 8.5 furlongs.
