Though this thread is about riders, I would like that we spare a thought for grooms. It seems to me that these intrepid people are amongst the most under-valued in all of horse racing! The expertise of a trainer and the skills of a jockey are well known, but where would they be without the services of diligent grooms. I love to spend time around stables, and have found that the love and professionalism of all the staff that live with the animals adds immense values to the best thoroughbreds. The most successful punters always seek winning tips from these knowledgeable people.:cool:
