Evangeline Downs in Opelousas, Louisiana, is well-known as the first "Racino" built from scratch. Created by Peninsula Gaming, LLC, Evangeline Downs Racetrack and Casino offers exciting horse racing as well as 80,000 square feet of casino entertainment. Evangeline Downs Racetrack hosts two racing seasons a year. The thoroughbred season runs from March through to September and the quarter horse events are held from September to October.
