The harness racing track is a length of ½ mile with a breadth of 70 feet. The speed rating is 2:02.3. Six starters can begin behind the gate. Race post times are typically at 7:30 pm. Jackson Raceway was opened in 1948 and has seen a number of improvements and adjustments since then. Substantial crowds flock to view the top standardbred champions and their riders fighting to cross the finish line. The grandstand has a capacity of 6 500 so there is plenty of room for everyone who enjoys harness racing. Admission is free at the moment and parking costs just $1,00.

The Sulky Lounge at Jackson Harness Raceway offers delicious treats for hungry patrons. I have a couple of Jackson Raceway official pins from 1957 and 1959. Have you always been Harness or were you ever Therobread? What was happening back then?
