Nebraska Racetracks
On 13 March 1935, pari-mutuel wagering was legalized in Nebraska, and over the following years the Nebraska State Racing Commission has been in charge of overseeing the wagering aspect of horse racing. Licenses are organised through the Nebraska State Racing Commission, and their other duties include regulating administrative procedures, protecting the interests of the public, as well as the industry, and to rid the horse racing industry of any illegal practices.
In Nebraska, horse racing fans will have a few horse racing tracks to choose from, namely the Fonner Park Racecourse, Aksarben Coliseum, Lincoln Nebraska State Fair, Columbus Racecourse and the Horseman’s Park Race Track. Aksarben Coliseum has been hosting horse racing events since 1920, playing a major role in the history of horse racing in Nebraska, surviving wars and wagering bans to remain a key facility today. Fonner Park Racecourse is also a treat for visitors and horse racing enthusiasts, established in 1954. It is located in breathtaking surroundings and offers simulcast and live horse racing action throughout the year.
