Lone Star Park of Grand Prairie, Texas, is a Magna Entertainment Corp. thoroughbred and quarter horse racing track. Racegoers can enjoy a year-round calendar of live and simulcast racing at Lone Star Raceway Park. Providing premium horse racing in exceptional facilities, Lone Star Park offers a magnificent experience.

Established in 1997, Texas' Lone Star Park is a relatively new establishment. It came under the management of Magna Entertainment Corp in 2002 and shot to fame in 2004 when the Breeders' Cup was hosted here. Encompassing an area of 315 acres, Lone Star Raceway Park boasts a 1 mile oval track with a running surface of sand, clay and silt. Additionally it has a 7 furlong turf track. Between April and December thoroughbreds thunder down the track to victory and from October to December the quarter horses draw crowds. Grand Prairie's Lone Star Park hosts the following graded stakes: Dallas Turf Cup, Texas Mile Stakes, Winstar Distaff Handicap, Lone Star Park Handicap and Walmac Lone Star Derby. A vast selection of other stakes and handicaps are run in season. Lone Star's 32 barns provide stabling for 1 600 horses and the jockey quarters have enough accommodation for 50. The grandstand is able to handle about 8 000 spectators. The Saddling Paddock allows patrons to have a good look at the horses preparing to race.

When there is no live racing at Lone Star Park, racegoers can still enjoy the thrill of horse racing at the Post Time Pavilion with simulcast racing. Open all week throughout the year, Lone Star has a complete simulcast calendar featuring races from around the country. Texas' Lone Star Park offers entertainment for the whole family with the 15 acre family fun park. Children can run around the playground or go on pony rides whilst parents picnic under the gazebos.

For year-round thoroughbred and quarter horse racing fun, Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie Texas is your best option.
