2011 Highpoint Farrier Award winner Adam Tighe
This year's Highpoint Farrier Award winner Adam Tighe is part of the new breed of younger farriers coming up through the ranks in South-East Queensland. Adam started his shoeing career out in Roma in Western Queensland and after honing his skills there, he decided to make the move to the Sunshine Coast to improve his work and improve the quality of horse he was able to work with. On the way to winning this award Adam plated the winners of two Group 1s, quinellaing the Doomben 10000 with Beaded and Love Conquers All and the TJ Smith with Benfica. To top of his list of achievements for the winter, Adam teamed up with Melbourne trainer Mark Riley to get Gold In Dubai across the line in the Ipswich Cup. Adam has become one of the most sought after farriers in South-East Queensland. Adam's work ethic and attention to detail has made him the quality tradesmen he has become and this award is a just recognition of the effort he has put into his chosen career.
