CGA 2/9/13 Horse Show [04:21]
First show of the year was pretty good! I didn't do as good as I planned but I was one point away from AAA reserved! I don't have my pink sheet but I didn't place in two events! But I got two 3 seconds and 1 fifth. I have a two day horse show this coming weekend so I will have more up next week!(:

Talkin Man did it in impressive fashion, toying with seven colts before pulling away for a 7 3/4-length victory over Knockadoon and assuring himself a date at Churchill Downs in three weeks, perhaps as the favorite of the Kentucky Derby on May 6. The 2-to-5 favorite in the Grade II Wood, Talkin Man left the rest of the field -- none had won a graded stakes race -- in the dust at the top of the stretch. Jockey Shane Sellers, riding the Canadian-bred horse for the first, and likely last time, because Mike Smith had to honor another commitment in Arkansas, never used his whip as his mount covered the mile and an eighth in an easy 1:491/5 . "I was just a passenger out there," Sellers said after Talkin Man breezed through fractions of 234/5 seconds for the quarter, 48 flat for the half, 1:123/5 over 6 furlongs and the mile in 1:37 even, while never being asked to run all out. Holy Bull, resting in his stall in Kentucky, probably scored the greatest victory of his career yesterday when Colonial Affair won the $750000 Jockey Club Gold Cup at Belmont Park and knocked Tabasco Cat out of contention for Horse of the Year. On a day billed as New York's preview of the Breeders' Cup series, Colonial Affair made a power drive from sixth place and outran Devil His Due to the wire by two and a half lengths, giving senior horses a sweep of the top spots. Less than one length back came the European traveler Flag Down, and then it was half a length to Tabasco Cat, winner of the Preakness and Belmont Stakes. And far, far away in last place came Go for Gin, winner of the Kentucky Derby and another beaten candidate for post-season honors. The loss meant that Tabasco Cat had no chance to snatch the championship from Holy Bull, who went home for the year after winning 8 of his 10 races in dramatic fashion.
