HI, I'm Shelbie :) I live in Texas. i have been riding horses since I was 2 years old. I am a barrel racer and have done it since I started. I'm working on going Pro once my new filly is finished. I help my coach/aunt tune up and train barrel horses. I have been competing a long time and for the past 3 years I have been winning on Barbie, the horse you see in the video. I hope these videos will be useful in showing how to barrel race and hope they are exciting at the same time. Also I do not have a very good editing program at the time, but I soon will! I have done the best I can do with iMovie, which is all I have for now. I would really love to be part of this channel and have a ton of ideas and footage to use not just with barrel racing but I can throw some team roping and other western events in the mix also. Barrel Racing- It's What We Do [00:57]
First things first, I have good news. I will be barrel racing soon. A friend of mine is letting me use one her barrel horses for some upcoming shows. Can't wait. XD Other than that, this is just a quick video I whiped up of some of my friends. I will probably edit/finish this eventually.

"How To Make Your Horse Love Barrel Racing"- Charmayne James Clinic Part 1 [09:45]
This is one of the clinics I watched at the 2010 Midwest Horse Fair in Madison, Wisconsin. Personally, I believe this clinic was very informational and helpful, and for those who are training a horse for barrels, you should really listen to what Charmayne is saying . I have seen plently of people (a lot of them are youtubers) who have incorrectly trained their barrel horses and did exactly what Charmayne said not to do. These people tend to say they learned from a "professional" barrel racer, but I don't think you can get any more professional than Charmayne James. After all, she is an eleven-time Women's Professional Rodeo World Champion. I'd go to her for barrel advice before anyone else . lol Part two will be up as soon as possible.

Youtube's Best Barrel-Pole Horse Entry/ 2nd Place [03:37]
2nd Place Winner: Ace --------------------------------- This is my entry for American Rodeo's contest. These horses belong to some friends of mine, and I just love watching them race. They're amazing at what they do and enjoy doing it. They're hardcore, bad-ass barrel horses that aren't the kind you can just saddle up and run a pattern on. You need to work with them and really get to know them well. Otherwise, there's a high change you're going to find yourself lying in the dirt. XD For some reason, youtube has a habit of slowing down my clips and ruining the old age effect I use. XP Sorry about that. It really irritates me. Song: "Pump It" by the Black Eyed Peas
