Gary Seibel Broadcaster Demo Reel [05:18]
Gary Seibel, a veteran harness racing broadcaster, has helped bring the sport to national prominence as television's premier and most recognized host and racing authority for two decades running. The 2012 edition of the Hambletonian marked his 20th consecutive year as either host or co-host of harness racing's most prestigious event, including a 13-year run on CBS and a 5-year stint with NBC. For more than a decade, he hosted network TV coverage of the Breeders Crown, harness racing's divisional championship series, and filled a similar role for the American Championship Harness Series back in the late 1990's. Seibel also has covered racing for ESPN, SportsChannel and Prime Network. He brought the sport of harness racing into the living rooms of fans across America on a daily basis from 1999 through 2011 as a host and racing analyst for the popular nightly program, "Drive Time," on TVG, the interactive horse racing network. In 1998, in one of his most memorable -- and fun -- forays outside the world of horse racing, the Bronx, New York, native took over for the late Hall of Fame broadcaster, Chris Schenkel, as play-by-play announcer for CBS Sports' network coverage of the Pro Bowlers Tour. Seibel has been honored with harness racing's Dan Patch media award and the Allen J. Finkelson award, with his body of work in the industry over the years earning him induction into the Communicator's Corner of the harness racing Hall of Fame in 2011. A graduate of the Newhouse School ...

Sr. Champ Onboard 9/16/12 - NHMS (Upper Track) / Feature Race Part 1 [07:13]
Onboard footage of Part 1 of the Sr. Champ Feature Race from New Hampshire Motor Speedway (Upper Track) in New Hampshire. The Feature Race was a 2 part race. There would be a 25 lap segment, then refueling for everybody, then a 25 lap finishing segment. I started on pole for the Feature Race and boy, the slipstream can either help you, or hurt you. I was able to run with James in the #24 kart and Dylan in the #24x kart to form a three kart pack to pull away from the others. Going downhill, I almost lost control of the kart, but managed to save it while drafting with Dylan in the #24x kart. James in the #24 kart got by me and he and Dyal were gone at that point. I had no choice but to ride around. After 25 laps, I was running in 3rd and would be there for the start of Part 2 of the Feature Race.

Sr. Champ Onboard 9/16/12 - NHMS (Upper Track) / Feature Race Part 2 [07:17]
Onboard footage of Part 2 of the Sr. Champ Feature Race from New Hampshire Motor Speedway (Upper Track) in New Hampshire. After the refueling break, I was running in 3rd place. Part 2 of the Feature Race was about the same as Part 1, except I was able to run at the front a little more. Once again, the slipstream killed me. James in the #24 kart and Dylan in the #24x kart were able to hook up and draft, while I was out to drive. I did what I could to try to keep up with them. After the 25 laps, I finished 3rd. I got a trophy and two tickets to the NASCAR race on 9/23/12. Anybody want them? I don't need them, since I won't bother going to the race.

1996 Goodwood Breeders' Cup Handicap [03:22]
Alphabet Soup was disqualified in one of the more controversial calls in recent memory, making Savinio the winner of the $303300 Goodwood Breeders' Cup Handicap at Santa Anita After a lengthy delay, Oak Tree stewards Ingrid Fermin, Dennis Nevin and Tom Ward ruled Alphabet Soup, the 4-5 favorite who finished a length in front of Savinio, interfered with Savinio and Dare And Go passing the wire the first time in the 1 1/8-mile race. To the sound of some of the loudest boos heard at a local track in years and to the displeasure of jockey Chris McCarron and trainer David Hofmans, the 5-year-old roan was disqualified and placed third behind Savinio and Dare And Go, who was making his first start since upsetting Cigar in the Pacific Classic almost two months earlier. While watching a head-on shot of the incident, Ward explained the stewards' position. "The three horse [Powerful Punch, who finished last in the field of four], bobbles at the break, drops out of and isn't a factor," said Ward. "[Alphabet Soup] angles toward the rail and everybody has plenty of room now. "There's continued pressure, just a gradual drift inside. You can take a look at these tractor marks [a tractor pulls the starting gate into position] and see where he started. "Now, [Alex] Solis [on Dare And Go] has got to make a decision, the turn is coming up and he's got to get back out of there. When he does, his horse gets a little rank with him and he ends up breaking stride and losing position. "You couldn ...
