Ballabriggs, trained by Donald McCain and ridden by Jason Maguire, won the John Smith's Grand National at Aintree. The 10-year-old beat Oscar Time by two and a half lengths. Last year's winner Don't Push It was third, with State Of Play fourth and Niche Market fifth.

Man Versus Horse marathon in Llanwrtyd Wells, Mid Wales attracted approx 600 runners and over 50 horses. I believe this is the largest amount of horses to set of in any race in Britain.
