PASSION [00:59]
DO NOT TAKE AUDIO, I MADE IT MYSELF ;) Today, september 7th, 2012. 6 MONTHS SINCE I FIRST RODE THIS HORSE♥ I actually can't believe, time's just going so fast :'D Right now I feel like going to the hell and back with this horse. My trainer just keeps telling me that other riders want to buy him, I'm just riding so so bad, I can't find distances, Camilo is just ignoring me, and like, if someone buys him I would be devastated. Although he's COMPLETELY IGNORING ME, I feel he's the one that gives me strenght to keep moving on, and keep trying, he's building up my confidence, character and personality. Since I meet him I'm a different person. I'm just happier and nicer to other people. He has taken me from 2'3 to 3'0 wich is kinda the biggest improvement I've ever made. Jumping 2'3 courses with Gitano and suddenly start jumping 3'0 courses with Camilo... Then I fell off. That was one of the biggest confidence knocks in my life. When I got back on him I barely wanted to trot, not even speak about jumping... In the beggining of this video you can see some of my new clips, last class clips. He refused. I can't believe that, but it was MY FAULT, absolutely my fault!!! Anyways, hope you really enjoy the video!!! Cande xx -------------------- Clips: me Camera: canon t3 + 55-250mm Program: sony vegas pro 10 Song: sorry, spent a really long time searching it, do the same by yourself :) ---------------------

2011 Daytona Stakes (G3) [02:12]
ARCADIA, Calif. -- Mike Machowsky, the trainer of Caracortado, had given up on his horse. So too had track announcer Trevor Denman, who said Caracortado was not firing. But neither jockey Rafael Bejarano nor, most importantly, Caracortado, thought all was lost, and he displayed a breathtaking, last-to-first rush in the stretch to capture the Grade 3, $98000 Daytona Stakes on Sunday at Santa Anita. Caracortado ($5.80), who was officially 13 lengths back a half-mile into the downhill turf sprint, and more than six lengths back with a furlong to go, roared past his three rivals to win by 1 1/4 lengths over Victory Pete. Mr. Gruff and Regally Ready, the Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint winner, finished in a dead heat for third, another half-length back, after a vicious early speed duel that left both sapped in the final furlong. Caracortado was timed in 1:11.59 for about 6 1/2 furlongs on firm turf. "I was watching the race on television at the clubhouse bar with my family and my father, and at the quarter pole I started to walk out," Machowsky said. "I looked up again at the sixteenth pole, and I saw my dad jumping up and down. "He's got a heck of a turn of foot. I didn't understand why he was so far back. He gives you an eerie feeling sometimes. He's got so much natural talent, sometimes it seems like he's playing with his opponents." Bejarano was riding Caracortado for the first time, replacing Joe Talamo, who is off to an uncharacteristically slow start at this meet. Caracortado ...

My Year of the Racehorse by Kevin Chong (non-fiction book trailer) [00:43]
The story of a man, a horse, and a foul-mouthed trainer in the (once) glamorous world of horse racing. Kevin Chong has grand plans. He draws up a to-do list of major milestones that will give him the life he always wanted -- and the life that will inspire awe and envy in his friends. Then Chong makes an unconventional decision: he buys a racehorse. He becomes part-owner. Just don't ask him which part. Thus Chong meets Blackie, the horse that will win his heart, even if she doesn't always win the race. He meets Rosie, the cantankerous trainer with a heart of gold. He meets assorted characters who work, live, and drink at the track. And, one by one, the items on his to-do list are replaced with horse-related ambitions. Written with keen observational humour, My Year of the Racehorse is strewn with fascinating tidbits and infused with the excitement and faded glamour of the horseracing world. Ultimately, it is the moving tale of a young man's discovery that a meaningful life can arise from the most unexpected of circumstances. About the Author Kevin Chong is the author of four books, including Neil Young Nation -- honoured as a book of the year by the Toronto Star, Globe & Mail, and Ottawa Citizen and aired as a documentary on CBC's Definitely Not the Opera -- and the novels Baroque-a-Nova and Beauty Plus Pity. He is an editor at Joyland.ca and teaches creative writing at UBC.
