Keeneland ~ Picking up Horse Poop & Winning the Pick 3 [03:15]
We went to Keeneland Park on their opening weekend. I structured what was supposed to be a $6 pick three ticket singling Intercoastal, part of an entry, in races four through six on opening day. But when I got up to the window, one of the horses had scratched in the third leg, race six So, I had a $1 pick three ticket that ended up costing me four bucks. We had a great time at Keeneland Race Course. The track was ... okay. The Lexington Room and the Phoenix Room, or whatever room we were in actually kind of ... well, we didn't care for them at all! Stay outside, where the action is! The gift shop rocked! I couldn't stop buying stuff! I got a great hat, and a lovely hat box that I owned for two whole days until the United Airlines baggage handler threw something on top of it as I watched from the window of the plane after I was forced to "gate check it, we'll take good care of it with a green tag" at Lexington. United did not take good care of my hat box. They crushed it. The hats are all okay! Saratoga! The Spa! Here we come!

Unlike the Woodward, the early fractions were sustainable, :23.63 for the first quarter-mile and :46.86 for the half, although Albert the Great was under pressure from Gander, who managed a narrow lead on the backstretch. Jockey Jorge Chavez asked Albert the Great to run at the top of the lane, after a mile in 1:34.54, and the colt ...
