The 2012 Preakness Stakes was the 137th running of the Preakness Stakes. The race took place on May 19, 2012, and was televised in the United States on the NBC television network. The post time was 6.20 pm EDT (10:20 pm UTC). I'll Have Another won the second leg of the Triple Crown, narrowly defeating Bodemeister in a last-furlong push. For a Dancer got up in the final strides to nip Cowgirl Hall in the 2nd elimination of the Empire Breeders Classic. The final time was 1:54.3, just 2/5 of a second off the track record.
