Jockey Jeramie Fennell rides FISHERS WISH to a 4th place finish in the Dash In A Flash Quarter Horse Stakes at Canterbury Park on July 21st, 2012. The distance of the race was 110 yards and a new track record was established with an official time of 7.034 seconds. FISHERS WISH is a New Mexico bred 8 year old Grey mare by Fishers Dash, out of Kiptys Wish (Kiptys Charger). She is owned by Michael J. Gorra and trained by Shane Miller. Special thanks to jockey Jeramie Fennell for wearing the helmet cam!

Horse racing oddity: jockey misjudges distance [03:22]
This race on May 16, 2004 is very entertaining. The Hasta la Vista Handicap at Turf Paradise in Arizona is run at what today is an unusually long distance of 1 7/8 miles. This requires two full circuits of the course, rather than the usual one time around in most races. Unfortunately for jockey Jorge Carreno, he forgets that minor detail, creating a very unusual sitation.

2012-06-10 Turffontein - race 1 [01:11]
Heavenisaracehorse puts in what has to be one of the most eye-catching debuts of the season over 1160m. He was slow out the gates and outpaced for most of the race finding himself with some 10 lengths to make up on the leaders heading to the 450m marker. From then on it was jaw-dropping stuff as he ripped through the field to go down only by a whisker to impressive black type performer Mogok's Desire. The rest of the field lay spread-eagled in the distance 4 and 6 lengths+ adrift. Congratulations to international owner Mr. Winston Chow who looks to have found another one here in SA with the ability to go on to greater things.

Two-time AQHA Champion Distance Runner, De Passem Okey, completed a 4-for-4 record during Remington Park's 2012 spring meeting with his win in the Remington Park Distance Handicap. Ridden by GR Carter, the six-year-old Oklahoma bred is trained by Rodney Reed for owner Steve Holt. Providing the most competition De Passem Okey has seen this spring, SCJ Arabella Maria finished second, while Apollo Rocks ran third.
