Driver-trainer Stacy Chiodo is the featured In The Sulky guest on Meadowlands Racetrack's pre-card broadcast. Chiodo is one of only 19 female drivers in history to win a race at the Meadowlands. She also owns the world record for the fastest mile ever driven by a female, which she earned guiding Mighty Young Joe to a 1:50.3 mark at Harrah's Chester in 2007.

Dick and his new bride "Blitz" (Elizabeth McCaw Dillard Reynolds) attend the race with owners and trainers including JJ Mooney and William K. Dickerson "Billy Dick" and jockey Harky Edwards. Their farrier was McNair Kerswill of the Red Mile. Dick's uncle, William N. Reynolds won a $40459 purse the prior year on Wednesday August 16, 1933 at Good Time Park in Goshen, NY. Uncle Will's horse "Mary Reynolds" was trained and driven by Ben White and groomed by Bob Davis. Mary Reynolds the horse traces her paternal line to Peter the Brewer, a son of Peter the Great and a great great grandson of Hambletonian 10. Mary Reynolds the horse was owned and bred by William N. Reynolds of Tanglewood Farm in Forsyth County, NC and named after his niece Mary Reynolds Babcock of Reynolda Village in Winston- Salem, NC, wife of Charles H.
