The Hoof Beats crew spent the day (Tuesday May 15th) with driver Dave Palone and his family. We followed Dave from his house to lunch to "The Meadows" then back home for dinner and a ride in their arena with the kids. We picked an interesting day to go with Dave as he didn't win the number of races he usually does, but that just shows he doesn't always get the best drives or win all the time. This is part 1 of 3.

In the saddle Andrasch Starke and the filly were trained by Peter Schiergen. The Arc winner defeats in a blink mitavorisierten finish the defending champion Nathaniel (William Buick). Third was the five-time Group I winner St Nicholas Abbey (Joseph O'Brien) from Ireland before last year's French Derby winner Reliable Man (Olivier Peslier) and the favorite Sea Moon (Ryan Moore).
