Demonstrating proper Equitation walk-trot [01:34]
Equitation is vital, especially in a show. It's just the "book" way of how you should look on a horse from the basics to the olympic levels. Walk- trot is simple. I listed some of the things that should be on your equitation checklist in the video. You'll also see a comment I included about making the horse work off her back end. As a horse is supposed to be balanced, the "power" should come from the back end. Keep contact in the front, but make sure your horse's hind end is always engaged. Another pointer... a sitting trot should be visibly slower than a rising or posting trot. while in the sitting trot, try not to bounce all over the saddle. Some horses are very bouncey. A way to strengthen yourself up to be able to handle this with good eq would be to try no stirrups. This strengthens your leg and teaches you not to rely on stirrups to balance you. Also lets you really get the feel of the horse's motion/

Looking for a part time leaser for lovely mare for 2-4 days per week (one will be a lesson day). Beverley is available immediately. Looking for a show minded rider. Beverley has potential+. Beverley is a 6 y/o TB. She is a big boned girl, built more like a WB. Overall she is a big sweetheart and has a great personality. She is green, however she is sane, but due to her size and that she is still learning the ropes herself I would like a teenager or young adult who is confident in their abilities as well as looking to be in a consistent lesson program with coach of my approval, depending on your abilities this may be negotiable. If beginner rider I would like leaser to be in regular lessons with coach on site. Beverley is very honest and willing to please, she really wants to make her rider happy. She is not flighty or hot. W/T/C on lunge, W/T/C under saddle. Goes on lunge line or free lunging. Has been started over small fences, she pops right over no hesitation. Stands for vet/farrier and to groom/tack up. Quick learner. She is kept UTD on everything. Very much a "people horse", loves attention. Sane enough for my green to horses boyfriend to ride on his own at a trot, as well as double bareback. Okay, I came like 3rd, but I got attacked by Bugsy (the white horse) haha. I no longer go to this Stable - I moved. I'm riding in the English style here, but I hope to do some Western :P

Barrel Racing in Versatility [00:54]
So here's the deal: it had just poured rain for nearly an hour, and the arena was disgusting. My horse LOVES the mud, but I wasn't going to just run him and risk an accident, quite a few other people had already scratched. We ended up getting 5th in the barrel racing part of the class (which consists of barrel racing, western pleasure, english pleasure and reining) :D
