2011 Daytona Stakes (G3) [02:12]
ARCADIA, Calif. -- Mike Machowsky, the trainer of Caracortado, had given up on his horse. So too had track announcer Trevor Denman, who said Caracortado was not firing. But neither jockey Rafael Bejarano nor, most importantly, Caracortado, thought all was lost, and he displayed a breathtaking, last-to-first rush in the stretch to capture the Grade 3, $98000 Daytona Stakes on Sunday at Santa Anita. Caracortado ($5.80), who was officially 13 lengths back a half-mile into the downhill turf sprint, and more than six lengths back with a furlong to go, roared past his three rivals to win by 1 1/4 lengths over Victory Pete. Mr. Gruff and Regally Ready, the Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint winner, finished in a dead heat for third, another half-length back, after a vicious early speed duel that left both sapped in the final furlong. Caracortado was timed in 1:11.59 for about 6 1/2 furlongs on firm turf. "I was watching the race on television at the clubhouse bar with my family and my father, and at the quarter pole I started to walk out," Machowsky said. "I looked up again at the sixteenth pole, and I saw my dad jumping up and down. "He's got a heck of a turn of foot. I didn't understand why he was so far back. He gives you an eerie feeling sometimes. He's got so much natural talent, sometimes it seems like he's playing with his opponents." Bejarano was riding Caracortado for the first time, replacing Joe Talamo, who is off to an uncharacteristically slow start at this meet. Caracortado ...

Our Lives Have Just Begun. [02:55]
If I spend hours on making a video I intend to inspire you with, at least be so inspired as to WATCH IN HD!!!!! ^^ So I got a new laptop for Christmas. Her name is Marlena. I installed my Vegas and put together the Carol of the Bells MEP, but had some issues rendering it because I didn't have the settings the way I like them. *ish very maticulous about rendering settings* I wanted to render something else that's shorter to make sure everything is right the way I want it. So we have this wee piece here with which I shall now rant accordinglyyyyyyyy: This one's a result of tossing ideas around my noodle noggin for a while hoping that something halfway decent would come out of my slow rebuilding of the footage that I've lost ... I've been wanting to do something heartwarmingesque since I feel like I haven't done anything like that in a while and I like feeling fuzzy when making videos... *gigglesnort* So really, in truth, I suppose you could say that the idea of it is that you can't allow folly and failure to hold you in the dirt. These things are inevitable and can only ever make you stronger. Every day is a new day, so treat each sunrise like a new beginning and use the time that you have to do some good with it. Whether that time is used to better yourself or others, time used passionately is time well spent, and passion is the fire that keeps us pushing for more, that keeps us alive, when things are at their most trying. Trust in your horse, trust in yourself, and ...
