Nil De Mee & Georgina Preston One Day Event on the last day of Polden Hills Pony Club Camp 2011 Quite a dramatic video ha! Had such a good time at camp. Dennis was pretty good, had some ups and downs (literally, slippy XC! That's why my instructor for the week is riding in the first photograph) but over all a nice week, think he's tweaked something in his back as he kept going disunited which is unlike him so having that looked at. Got 44 Dressage, which was worse than last year when it was definitely alot better than last year so a bit gutted the judge wasn't as generous. Then had a clear XC and it was so controlled and such a brilliant feeling so over the moon about that and then the showjumping was topscore and was a bit unlucky, did the first jump nicely as in the video, then he was disunited going around to a big green spread so we knocked that and then couldn't go around and jump the planks which we had planned so I circled around the other way and did a brush fence, he didn't really notice the pole so just knocked it, then we went and did the second half of the double because I didn't know it was a double and then went and did the planks, so although we did pretty awfully, I got lots of comments on how controlled he was and how he looked like a different horse so I was very pleased with that. Sorry for the essay, enjoy! Thankyou for reading if you have...! xx

New York Watch: Fantastic Song [02:08]
Hailing from one of the most productive turf families in recent years, Fantastic Song overcame an outside post and a wide trip to debut a winner on Saturday at Saratoga Race Course. Fantastic Song, the first foal out of his stakes-winning dam, left the outermost post in the field of 10, was taken back by jockey Javier Castellano heading into the clubhouse turn, and trailed the field through a half-mile in 48.30. He commenced a three-wide run on the far turn, came five-wide into the stretch, and charged down the center of the track while alternating leads to get up by a head over fellow first-time starter Animal Spirits. By Lemon Drop Kid, Fantastic Song completed 1 1/16 miles over firm turf in 1:43.84 and returned $20.40 for a $2 win wager at 9-1. "He had a wide trip and he was way back there," said trainer Chad Brown. "We had a good feeling about that horse on the turf and he had good breeding, but we didn't like the post. We were just going to take him back to last and save ground and just hope he fires. That's the only thing you can do from that post." Brown will point the colt toward a likely start in Belmont Park's Grade 3, $100000 Pilgrim at 1 1/16 miles on October 2. Fantastic Song races for breeder Dell Ridge Farm, who bought the colt back for $95000 at the 2010 Keeneland September Yearling Sale. He is out of Fantastic Shirl, who won the De La Rose, finished second in the Grade 3 Noble Damsel Handicap, and was third in the Grade 2 Jenny Wiley, on the turf ...

Barrel Racing. Summer Series. Week 6. [00:27]
Last night of the summer series. Ran an 18:D She was running her best for me even though she wasnt feeling good. The previous day, our neighbors stud got out an dkicked her up pretty good. So we gave her some pain medicine, and then the next day she had abcessed on her neck:/ So that shows true love and bond. I'm so very proud of this horse. We came along way in 3 years. I couldn't even touch her, and now she is running like a seasoned barrel horse and even beating them:D

A th letic ism [00:33]
The thoroughred horse has got to be one of the most athletic creatures on earth! In my experience they eclipse every other breed of horse in their athleticism by a long way. I've been on thoroughbreds taking off for a fence two strides too soon, schooled younsters over fence sideways, etc etc thinking to myself "how the hell are we going to get over this" and somehow reached the other side without even feeling like anything's happened. That's what a true athlete does, make it look and feel effortless when it should be the exact oposite! I hope this video showcases even a little bit of just how amazing these animals are. I don't own anyof the clips or the music.
