2013 Monrovia Stakes - Unique Video [01:40]
This is a unique video of the 2013 Monrovia Stakes that took place on January 6, 2013. The video specifically spotlights Kindle of HnR Nothhaft Racing. Mizdirection, making her first start since defeating males in the Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint (gr. IT), ran down speedy Kindle in the shadow of the wire to register a repeat victory in the $150000 Monrovia Stakes (gr. IIT) over the hillside turf course at Santa Anita Park Jan. 6 (VIDEO). The 9-10 favorite in a field of five older fillies and mares, Mizdirection was ridden to a half-length victory by Mike Smith. The 5-year-old mare by Mizzen Mast improved to 4-for-4 over the hillside course for trainer Mike Puype and her owners, sports radio personality Jim Rome's Jungle Racing, Danny Grohs, William Strauss, Kevin Nish, and Mike Kramek. Mizdirection, who surpassed $1 million in career earnings with the victory, has now won six of her past seven races dating back to December 2011. But she had to dig in to get this one. "Right when you think maybe she's beat, she just digs deep and finds a way to do it," Rome said. "And as I always say in this moment, I could not be more proud of her. She's got another gear. She does not like to lose. When she's got a good target to shoot for, she usually turns out pretty well." The final time for the about 6 1/2 furlongs was 1:11.94 over firm ground. The race was contested in a cloud burst that began shortly before the start. Mizdirection won the Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint at Santa Anita Nov. 3 ...

"Seabiscuit: An Unlikely Champion" (2013) [15:02]
GET THE BOOK HERE: amzn.to Description: Picture yourself in the 1930's and a Seabiscuit fan. Every week you would go to one of his races and see him bolt from the starting gate and 1 minute later see him charge past the wire in 1st place. This book does not cover the FULL in depth story, mostly the races in depth. All of the big races he raced in was covered from the break of the bell towards the first turn all the way to blazing past the wire. Seabiscuit was the most well known symbol of hope for Americans during the great depression, Americans thought that even though they were poor and starving maybe one day they will be great. Seabiscuit did. My goal was to have this book be a great demonstration of an unlikely champion. A symbol of hope for America during the great depression and Seabiscuit knew it. With any competition to face, or as many horses you can list, day to day, the greatest horse to exist.

1995 Wood Memorial Stakes [13:22]
The road to Kentucky may run through New York after all. In perhaps the most impressive performance by a 3-year-old colt this year and on the heels of his decisive victory in the Gotham three weeks ago, Talkin Man led every step of the way to win the 71st running of the $500000 Wood Memorial yesterday at Aqueduct. Talkin Man did it in impressive fashion, toying with seven colts before pulling away for a 7 3/4-length victory over Knockadoon and assuring himself a date at Churchill Downs in three weeks, perhaps as the favorite of the Kentucky Derby on May 6. The 2-to-5 favorite in the Grade II Wood, Talkin Man left the rest of the field -- none had won a graded stakes race -- in the dust at the top of the stretch. Jockey Shane Sellers, riding the Canadian-bred horse for the first, and likely last time, because Mike Smith had to honor another commitment in Arkansas, never used his whip as his mount covered the mile and an eighth in an easy 1:491/5 . "I was just a passenger out there," Sellers said after Talkin Man breezed through fractions of 234/5 seconds for the quarter, 48 flat for the half, 1:123/5 over 6 furlongs and the mile in 1:37 even, while never being asked to run all out. "Regardless of what the pace was, I knew what I had underneath me. He was telling me, 'We OK, we OK Don't worry about nothing.' " Coupled with the upset victory by the 30-1 long shot Wild Syn in the Blue Grass at Keeneland a little over an hour earlier, Talkin Man's victory guarantees that the ...

Rolex24 From the SuperStretch into Bus Stop Chicane Night Daytona 2013 [04:07]
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The chicane, located near the end of the Superstretch, traditionally produces many of the most dramatic moments of the Rolex 24 At Daytona, America's most prestigious sports car race and the kick-off event to the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Cask No. 16. During the first day of the 49th running of the Rolex 24 At Daytona on Saturday, Jan. 29, sports car fans will have a great place to view all of the action in the chicane from atop the 46-foot high Budweiser Party Porch. Located across from the chicane on the Superstretch, the 20000-square foot Budweiser Party Porch platform will be open to fans for the first time during the sports car race and provide a prime viewing spot of the drivers navigating their way through one of the tricky portions of the 3.56-mile road course. "The Budweiser Party Porch is going to be a great spot to enjoy all the drama of the Rolex 24 At Daytona," track President Joie Chitwood III said. "Entering and exiting the chicane has always been one of the more challenging areas on the track and the Budweiser Party Porch will now provide a great vantage point for fans." The Budweiser Party Porch, which will be open on Saturday, Jan. 29 between noon and midnight, will be available to ticket holders with garage pass upgrades. Jurassic Classic Winter Chiller 2013 [01:09]
First let's start off with something awesome. I WON MY BIRST BUCKLE AND OVER 500 BUCKS AJSKFL: Anyway... I'm so proud of Talker! He did freaking fantastic. Sure it was super wide on the third run with the first barrel, but it was the third day of racing, we were both pretty tired. Those third barrels though... Holy crap he sucked them up! It was kinda scary haha.
