Kerry Thomas Explains Emotional Conformation of a Horse [01:21]
Horsemen traditionally have evaluated the physical aspect of horses to judge their capabilities. Kerry Thomas' emotional conformation technique evaluates the mental capacity of a horse in addition to the physical for a more complete holistic picture of the horse as an athlete. A new window into what was once a mystery is now being revealed. Thomas is a researcher and has pioneered these methods not only for the benefit of horse racing but for human therapeutic applications such as working with children with special needs, autism and with war heroes transition. The result of Thomas' work is the formation of the Thomas Herding Technique: Equine Athletic Psychology Specializing in Emotional Conformation Profiling. Thomas is the author of Horse Profiling: The Secret to Motivating Equine Athletes.
Betfair trading strategies - Lay the field [10:46]
Laying the field is a popular strategy and with Bet Angel you can do this manually or fully automatically. By laying the field at odds of 2.00 you are looking for two selections to get matched at that price to break even, more and you profit. You need 3 at 3.00 and 4 and 4.00 and so on. In this video we demonstrate how to do this manually and fully automatically using Bet Angel. We use horse racing in this example but there are many suitable markets. Remember to always use practice mode when you are testing new strategies, so you can get to fully understand how each one performs and manifests itself in different markets and situations.
1987 Dwyer Stakes [03:07]
Gone West, who floundered while trying to provide Woody Stephens with his sixth straight Belmont Stakes winner last month, won back his national prominence yesterday with a 12 1/2-length triumph over Pledge Card and Polish Navy in the $230400 Dwyer Stakes at Belmont Park. Gone West benefited from a drying track that favored front-runners and rail-runners, but was still very impressive and clearly the best horse in the field. Polish Navy outbroke him, but Gone West shot up on the inside to take the lead within the first quarter-mile and the duel was over. Gone West led at every call while posting steady fractions of 23 2/5, 47, 1:10 3/5 and 1:35 3/5. Gone West finished the one and one-eighth miles in the fine time of 1:48 2/ 5 under Eddie Maple and paid $4.20 as the favorite in a field of six. Pledge Card ran down Polish Navy in the final furlong and beat him by a half a length for second. Another eight lengths back was KC's Best Turn, and Jazzing Around and Simply Majestic brought up the rear. The victory was a bright spot in a gray Belmont meeting for Stephens. His Belmont Stakes streak was broken June 6 when Gone West finished sixth, 23 3/4 lengths behind Bet Twice, and the trainer had not won a race since sending out Nudge to an allowance victory that day. The Dwyer was only the third victory of the Belmont meeting for Stephens, the first coming when Gone West won the opening-day Withers Stakes on May 6. ''He looked like a race horse today,'' Stephens said of Gone West ...
