Billy - The third ride [03:12]
Hi everyone! So Billy is back in action again! I gave him the week off as he was a bit off colour from being kicked in the field, and the poor thing's feeties were a bit tender from being quite overdue for a trim. Been doing a bit of groundwork with the boy, starting to do a bit of lunging in the roundyard as we're not entirely sure of doing it on a lunge line as of yet, lol. You will notice there's quite a bit of work done in the walk in this video, sorry if it's a bit bland to watch, but that's what we do at home so you may as well see it in my videos! Most of the ride was done in the walk, lots of halt transitions in there, and once we had that down pat without a fuss we had a play in the trot and a brief canter just to see what he'd do! This week will be a lunging bootcamp week to try and get him a bit more balanced to improve the ridden flat work, and to muscle him up a bit too. I'll just touch on a couple of things, following my last video I got a TON of emails asking questions, so here are the main couple of things addressed! You will notice my hands are quite wide and I don't have a heap of contact. Looseish contact is because I'm more concerned with him moving freely forward, rather than jamming him into an outline. In my opinion it is better to have them forward and soft then in a frame and not going anywhere. Anyone can jam a horse up to try and make it look 'pretty'. I would rather have them working properly. I'm also not concerned with my position on a green ...

Roger at TJ Park Equestrian Center - flat work [04:12]

So here we are at our new yard, wahooooo! :D This property belongs to a friend of mine who has invited us to keep Rodge there so we can get some work done with him, as it's just too wet and slippery at home. This is just a bit of flatwork from today that we did, I've been working on getting him to stretch through his body and trying to loosen him a bit more, and improve his trot/canter work - so far so good. We've started a bit of leg yielding, and he's starting to get the hang of it, lol :) Not much news to report, as I only did a video the other day so enjoy! Luv Katie xx

Roger - 2nd and 4th rides [03:41]
Well it's official, Roger is the new love of my life, hahahaha :) This was Saturday and yesterday with the Rodgie pony, I've been a bit slack with the video making so thought I would combine the two rides! Starting to see improvements from him bit by bit, he's starting to come round in dribs and drabs, and even doing a bit of leg yielding today (will have to get that on film for you all) so really pleased with how he's going. Got him in a nice soft bit which is good, he's not heavy in my hands and pulling which is what I was worried he would do, as he had spent a bit of time dragging me around the paddock on the end of the lunge, lol, but he's lunging a lot better now. Actually not sure if he'd been lunged at all, he would have been if he was a race horse? Hmm I'm honestly not sure! Anyway hope you enjoy - while I'm here I wanna say thank you to my 245 subbers! Really appreciate all the support and lovely messages and comments... Keep em coming, it really does make my day when I have video comments! No crit or on my riding please, I'm back in work with my coach to get it all sorted, I know where my faults are and am working on them. Not trying at all to look pretty up there, just getting the boys working nicely is my top priority :) Thanks so much for watching!!! xoxoxoxo

King - Flat work 28th Jan [03:57]
As in title really! Flatwork on King the other day, pretty basic walk trot canter stuff, working on trying to get him listening that bit more. NO CRIT on my riding thanks, I have a fantastic instructor helping me, and am getting quite sick of hearing from random you tube people what I could be doing better or how crap my position is, or that my horse is no good, or I may as well give up, etc, etc, etc. Any crit or nasty comments will be deleted and the nasty person who posted them will be blocked. On a much lighter note, thank you to all of those people who have left me lovely comments, or messages on my channel, you really don;t know how much it means to me, so thank you so much! :) Thank you to my 233 subbers too you are great! :) xoxoxoxo

Ex race horse Toby - Flatwork Dec [03:52]
Hey hey! This was from like, a week ago, just been slack putting it up! Just a bit of flat work with the Toby pony, main aim at the moment is suppling him up (if that is even a word? You get what I mean anyway! :P ) and getting him to go in a steadier rhythm, rather than worrying about jumping. Most of the ride from that day was done at a walk - at least the first half hour, did a bit of long and low, taught him a bit of leg yielding which he got the hang of pretty well I thought. Trying to get him out of the mind frame of just because I put my leg on, doesn't mean we go 100 miles an hour, lol :) Most of the trotting footage we caught was on the right rein, he seems to not be flexing so easily on the side, so did quite a bit of work in the trot and canter too. Anyways, I won't bore you with too much blabbering on, just thought I would clear that up before I have 100 people at me that I should ride both ways etc etc... Just because it is not on camera, does not mean we didn't do it! :) No crit on my riding, concentrating more on his way of going, rather than how I look, for the moment anyway. Thanks so much for watching and thank you to my 201 subbers! Please leave me a thumbs up and a comment, I absolutely love reading them all!!! Luv Katie xoxoxo
