Amberleigh House- The 2004 Grand National (Aintree) [03:40]
Amberleigh House won the 2004 Grand National evoking memories of Red Rum's previous triumphs for trainer Ginger McCain. A 16/1 chance on the day Amberleigh House looked like the best he could hope for was a 4th placed finish. Racing some 20 horse lengths behind the leading trio of Clan Royal, Hedgehunter and Lord Atterbury with four fences remaining. Carnage ensued however when Hedgehunter suffered a tired fall and Clan Royal nearly took the wrong course. With Lord Atterbury tiring, Graeme Lee brought Amberleigh House down the outside to grab the lead inside the final furlong and win by three horse lengths.

Red Rum is perhaps the world's most famous racehorse. Red Rum's 1973 comeback victory from 30 lengths behind is often considered one of the greatest Grand Nationals in history. Red Rum beat the Australian chaser Crisp, carrying 23 pounds more, in what was a new record time of nine minutes, 1.9 seconds. The jockey on the historic day was Brian Fletcher and the horse was trained by Ginger McCain.
