UPDATE 12/28/11: I have decided to disable commenting on this video, because all that people ever seemed to do was say hateful, unintelligent things to each other. Let's face it; barrel racing is a sport in the horse world, and just like every other horse sport, it requires diligent training and dedication. Let's not call each other names just because one person thinks the sport is stupid and/or abusive. Those people are just missing out, and it's not worth your energy to try to convince them otherwise. Old description: I did some searching online and pulled together a few pics and vids to make this video. Just so y'all know, it makes me very sad to watch this, because I miss my horse in Texas (I had to move and leave her with family.). Yougottawanna wires 2004 Seabiscuit Handicap at Bay Meadows [02:32]
Yougottawanna had quite the seesaw career. As a 2-year-old, he stunned Officer with an upset win in the 2001 California Cup Juvenile. He lost his next three starts, then defeated Danthebluegrassman and stablemate Cappuchino in the Grade 3 El Camino Real Derby. He missed nearly a year of racing after the El Camino, and lost 11 consecutive races after his return. He ended the losing streak with an eight-length victory in an option claiming race, from which he was claimed for $50000 John F. Martin. Jerry Hollendorfer took him back for $80000 two starts later and wheeled him back in the Grade 3 Seabiscuit Handicap at Bay Meadows on Memorial Day 2004. In the Seagiscuit, Yougottawanna set a fast pace and turned back stablemate Gold Ruckus to register a 3/4-length victory under jockey Russell Baze. Yougottawanna posted a repeat victory in the 2005 Seabiscuit.
