Champ Kart Onboard 12/8/12 - Baltimore / Heat Race [01:54]
Onboard footage of the Champ Kart Heat Race from 1st Mariner Arena in Maryland. Race #1 of the Fatheadz Eyewear Indoor Racing League happens tonight. There were approximately 28 entries for the Champ Kart race. There were two Heat Races splitting the field. I raced in Heat Race #2. I started 4th for the Heat Race and looked like I was well on my way to entering the Feature Race since I was within the Top 4, until my kart gets on three wheels from the uneven weight transfer and hits the wall. I almost turned over, but thankfully, I was able to keep the kart on all four wheels and continue on with the race. With a bent spindle, I had to nurse the kart through the rest of the race. The kart drove great, even with a bent spindle. I finished 6th so that did not lock me in to the Feature Race. After the race, I was granted an opportunity to compete in the Last Chance Consi Race to get a second try to get in to the Feature Race. We only had about 3 minutes to fix the kart. Do we make it in time for the start?

Keeneland, Three Chimneys Farm, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation teamed up to make her wish come true. Keeneland Close Up's Chrissy Pullinger reports. Shot by Jared Hamm. Thanks to Jen Roytz of Three Chimneys Farm and Kathleen Wallace for the interviews.

The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) today welcomed the famed rider of 1973 Triple Crown winner Secretariat to Saratoga Race Course for an exclusive autograph session for racing fans. Various memorabilia was available for Turcotte to sign, including the first print to showcase the newly adjusted and corrected Triple Crown times. Autographs were available for $20 with all proceeds to benefit The Secretariat Foundation, which provides grant funding to thoroughbred retirement programs as well as the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund. Turcotte was also on-track on Saturday, August 11, when NYRA named the day's fourth race in honor of The Secretariat Foundation.

New York Watch: Palice Malice [01:35]
Palace Malice became the first North American winner sired by multiple Horse of the Year Curlin with a dominant 3-½ length maiden score Saturday at Saratoga Race Course. The Dogwood Stable color-bearer will now be pointed for the Grade 2, $300000 Three Chimneys Hopeful on Monday, September 3. Sent out by Saratoga leading trainer Todd Pletcher, Palace Malice was making his second career start. In his debut on July 5 at Belmont Park going five furlongs, the bay colt had a rough trip and raced greenly through the stretch, placing second to the promising Carried Interest by a half length, with 6 ¾ lengths separating him and the third-place finisher. In Saturday's seventh race, an $80000 maiden event at 6 ½ furlongs on the dirt, Palace Malice broke alertly, tracked a swift pace while running three wide down the backstretch, took over on the turn, and cruised home to an easy victory under jockey Javier Castellano, while still running somewhat greenly through the stretch. He paid $2.70 to win for a $2 wager as the overwhelming 1-5 favorite in the field of seven. "We expected him to run well like he did first time out and maybe improve, but you never take anything for granted in this business," said Pletcher, who leads the Saratoga meet with 14 victories through Saturday. "He's still learning, and we were happy to see him win like this. It's exciting to see a colt that is bred the way he is to show the kind of speed that he has, and you would think he would only improve as the ...
