Angie - grey Beverley - bay This is such a shitty video, but I just wanted to get it done ASAP to explain where I've been and why no new riding videos have been posted lately. We moved!! This move took a lot out of me, nearly everybody moved from one facility over to another facility. I finally have Angie and Beverley at the same place, which is really awesome! The move has been a little stressful on Angie - she's recently been having some really bad separation anxiety, mainly toward Beverley but also just in general. She has been insanely HOT to ride, like bucking/head swinging/whinnying, so right now we are just working on that with her. Beverley has had two rides at our new place so far, one of which was bareback, and she has been doing super! No acting out like Angie, Beverley is just so calm and takes everything (er, most things?) as if she's been doing it her whole life. I just need to work on my own confidence issues, she gets really nervous when I am nervous, she's truly a horse that feeds off their rider and needs the rider to be confident in order for her to preform. I have another video that I am currently working on, so as soon as I have a bit of spare time I will upload that. I have been super busy with this move/work/riding in general.

Went riding the Tuesday that has just gone and thankfully the weather stayed nice for us. :DI rode Amo as usual but I also had a short trot on Blue; the pony my mum rides! She feels sooo different from Amo, plus, I feel so close to the ground! Ahh! And I may just get to ride her next lesson so fingers crossed! While I had a little ride on Blue, of course my mum needed another horse to ride for the time being. Soooo....she rode Amo! (although we didn't get ANY of this on camera since my grandad wandered off back to the car, haha) And of course, like everyone else I know, mum fell in love with her and has asked to ride her next lesson. So, basically we've swapped horses at the moment so I'm just gonna give you this heads up on who's riding who. :D Me and Amo also had a quick "Jockey Time" around the arena which we enjoyed very much. If you don't know what "Jockey Time" is then don't hesitate to ask. :D I'll be riding again on the 3rd of July (it feels so long away!) but hopefully the weather will continue to stay nice (its been on and off all week). Belmont Stakes (2012) - Union Rags Wins at the Wire The Belmont Stakes ran Saturday evening, but anticipation for the big race dwindled suddenly when on Friday it was announced that favorite to win and Triple Crown contender, I'll Have Another, scratched and subsequently retired due to a leg injury. However, the show must go on... and it did, with Union Rags taking the win for the 2012 Belmont Stakes. Union Rags prevailed in the field of 11 3-year-olds in the 144th running of the Belmont, but even so, there wasn't much excitement among fans entering the huge racetrack hours before the race. The Belmont win is worth $600000 out of a $1 million purse. "I don't have words to describe it," jockey John Velazquez said. "For (trainer Michael Matz) to finally rise up to the top again, I'm very, very happy. Union Rags passed by Painter at the finish line, giving Valazquez his second career win. Union Rags came in 7th at the Kentucky Derby and bypassed the Preakness Stakes altogether. As for I'll Have Another, he did make an appearance, however. The Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner will instead be led to the winner's circle before the race for a retirement ceremony. "We felt that this would be a fitting ceremonial retirement for an incredible racehorse," I'll Have Another's trainer Doug O'Neill said. "There are many fans who traveled from near and far to see I'll Have Another today, and we wanted to give them a chance to help us send him off to retirement." With a Triple Crown ...
