The USTA invites you to Back to the Track 2 the weekend of July 15-17th to experience harness racing at its best live and in person. Back to the Track is a day to celebrate harness racing in all its forms: as a sport enjoyed by harness racing fans, as a challenging game played by handicappers and as a livelihood earned by the hard-working folks on the backstretch. On July 15-17th, 2011 put down the remote, log off your computer, or finish chores early and come back to the track and enjoy a night of racing as you remember it.

Paddock Parade of horses at "Vandrewala Indian Turf Invitation cup-2010". [02:54]
The best horses of all the racing centres in India are invited to contest the "Indian Turf Invitation Cup", a distance of "2400 metres" akin to "Indian Derby"..This race was first held at the "Mahalaxmi Race-Course in Mumbai in 1963 and since then has been run cosequetively every year at a different racing centre in India returning to Mumbai's "Mahalaxmi Race-course" once in every 5 years. On Sunday(7-3-2010), the 48th running of the "Indian Turf invitation cup" and its tenth running at the "Mahalaxmi race-course" in Mumbai was conducted with great fanfare and entertainment . Sponsorship of this race by the "vandrewala Foundation" has given it its name "Vandrewala Foundation India turf Invitation cup-2010". Akin to the "Mcdowell's Indian Derby-2010" there was a carnival atmosphere at the race-course with a "Ice-skating show" performed on synthetic ice floor constructed in the 'members Enclosure", something unique in tropical Mumbai climate.The favourite was "Jacqueline @ 90/100 odds and the second favourite was "Becket" @ 2 1/2 odds, the rest of the 9 horse field were quoted at much longer odds, proving that this was a 2- horse race . There was a crowd of approx 15000 racegoers, less than the "mcdowell Indian derby-2010", but, the race had all the ingredients of a repeat of rivalry between the flliy Jacqueline and colt Becket.
