LITTLE VALLEY extreme cowboy judged trail race [05:08]
This is Harley's first and my third extreme cowboy race. It was extremely fun and we had a great time camping with Barb and Emily Swanson. This is race #1 of the Little Valley Rider's Club in Little Valley, NY; The Enchanted Mountains. They only placed 1-3 and we didn't place. I WAS very pleased with Harley. He listened well and enjoyed himself. We know what we need to work on for course #2 coming up in June.

Horse racing oddity: jockey misjudges distance [03:21]
For some reason I find oddities like this May 16, 2004 race very entertaining. The Hasta la Vista Handicap at Turf Paradise in Arizona is run at what today is an unusually long distance of 1 7/8 miles. This requires two full circuits of the course, rather than the usual one time around in most races. EXTREME COWBOY RACE [05:36]
didn't like that I had to throw a bit in his mouth. The rules state that no hackamores can be used. I should have considered a bit-less bridle or just his halter, but being aa barrel/pole horse I didn't know if he would be "on the go" or not.... seeing all the obstacles. ...
