Joel broke beautifully, had her in good position all the way around the track, made "the move" just right and I thought we had it. Low and behold the inside horse comes outside and kicks by at the last second. This race will do her good and get her ready for her next start. She is now back running and running well, so let's see if we can keep the momentum going! I saw the head on replay and it looked like she was very relaxed and doing everything right. This filly is very professional and will certainly get this condition and move up from here. Close but no cigar! That's OK, we've got a nice turf filly!

Well, what can I say. I simply adore this video. Ive been meaning to construct a tribute for my beloved Emerald Downs for a while now, and here it is. I think it accurately depicts our struggle in a small racing community, but also our strength and perseverance in the grand sport of kings. I hope you guys enjoy. RTD 2nd in 9th @ The Spa 7 30 12 [01:47]
RTD ran like he was shot out of a cannon to hold on for 2nd in the 9th race today at The Spa! He broke sharp as he always does, took the overland route about 4 wide around the track and opened up a 3 length lead at the top of the stretch. Unfortunately the 6 horse - taking advantage of the front end speed (21,44,56) - closed to get the win.
