Champ Kart Onboard 12/31/12 - Providence / Heat Race [02:28]
Onboard footage of the Champ Kart Heat Race from the Dunkin' Donuts Center in Rhode Island. Tonight on New Year's Eve is the 5th Annual Coffee Cup and Race #2 of the Fatheadz Eyewear Indoor Karting Series. I qualified outside of the Top 10, which meant that I had to race in one of the two Heat Races. I raced in the first Heat Race. I started 3rd and I had to finish 4th or higher to lock in to the Feature Race. I had a great run going and was hanging around in the Top 4 for most of the race. I fell back to 5th at one point, but was able to get around Nick in the #41 kart and move into 4th. On the last lap, the leaders tangle on the front stretch and I almost would have finished 2nd from all of the leaders being tangled up. In the end, I finished 3rd and got into the Feature Race. DJ Shaw in the #60 kart was declared the winner, even though he was in the wreck.
Sr .Champ Onboard 10/13/12 - Twin State / Feature Race [00:31]
Onboard footage of the Sr. Champ Feature Race from Twin State Speedway in New Hampshire. Today is the Fall Challenge 2012 Special Event. We got to race on the big 1/3 mile oval, not the short oval. I thought that racing on the bigger oval was a little bit more fun than the smaller oval, since you can run wide open on the bigger oval. My Dad forgot to record the Heat Race. I guess his age is starting to kick in. I started in 3rd for the Heat Race and finished 2nd. For the Feature Race, I started 2nd. I somewhat knew that we were going to be at a disadvantage when I ran in Practice. Dave in the #5 kart and the other three people in the #11, #13 and #82 kart ran on Open Motors. I ran on my WKA Animal Motor and it was a huge mistake to run on that motor. We should have brought our Open Motor to the race, since I would have a chance at the victory. We ran well though with the WKA Animal Motor and was somewhat competitive. I possible had a chance to pull off an upset today and win with a WKA motor, while the rest of the field ran on Open Motors. Unfortunetely, on the first lap, my race ended. The #82 kart got around me going into the first turn. I had a run on him coming out of the first bend, but he cut me off on the outside line. In the second bend, he tries to pass Dave in the #5 kart and loses it. I almost successfully evaded him, but my kart got into the marbles and slammed the outside wall. I bent my right front spindle and damaged the right front tire. This is why I can ...
Me getting run over in Englishtown, New Jersey [11:05]
This was a race I did for the New Jersey Sprint Series. The first day, I won, and the second day...well, i think you get the idea. He braked really early on the staight because he had mojo's on and i had Brigstone YLC's. He swung way to the outside and I bassically got stuck there and he went on top of the turtle bump and onto me. The next lap, I got the finger that showed that I am number 1 (bassically he flipped me off). When he landed, I think gas sprayed onto my helmet because I saw some kind of liquid on my visor. I got second in that race. It has no sound becuase the camera got beat up.
Sr. Champ Onboard 8/26/12 - Twin State / Feature Race [05:11]
Onboard footage of the Sr. Champ Feature Race from Twin State Speedway in New Hampshire. I started 3rd for the Feature and had an exciting first few laps with Peter in the #9 kart and Dave in the #5 kart. I almost was able to take the lead from Dave in the #5 kart, but he was able to hold me off. I was running in 2nd until a caution came, and I think that caution ruined my race. On the final restart, I would have to start on the outside, and I hate starting on the outside row, because it's hard to get down to the bottom without getting frieght-trianed. I was able to hold off the #7 kart and on the last lap, I had a ru on Peter in the #9 kart, but lost the kart going through the second bend and spun out. I'm not sure if I was disqualified or not, but I finished last out of the 4 karts that raced. For my first time at Twin State Speedway, it wasn't too bad. I got robbed of a possible victory and trying to get the kart to turn good.
