Racecar Sheared In Half: Nationwide Series Race At Daytona Crash 2/23/13 Racecar Sheared In Half: Nationwide Series Race At Daytona Crash 2/23/13 Fans injured at conclusion of Nationwide race at Daytona DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- At least six fans sustained injuries when parts of Kyle Larson's car flew into the stands at the conclusion of Saturday's Nationwide Series race at Daytona International Speedway. A track worker told Yahoo! Sports that one woman had a tourniquet on her leg, others suffered burns and a tire landed on one fan when a multiple-car accident unfolded as drivers raced for the finish line in the final lap of the Drive4COPD 300. Tony Stewart missed the pileup and won the race as Larson's car was propelled into the catchfence separating the track from the grandstands on the Daytona International Speedway trioval. The crash was triggered when leader Regan Smith was turned via contact from Brad Keselowski, who was pushing him. Much like many crashes that have happened in the front of the field at Daytona, the wreck was unavoidable for many behind and Larson's car was catapulted into the catchfence after he was tagged from behind. The impact with the catchfence sheared the entire front off of Larson's car and also tore a hole in the fence. His engine and a tire ended up lodged in the catchfence with the other tire nine rows up in the grandstands. When Larson's car came to rest in the infield, the entire section of the car in front of the cockpit was missing ...

Bluff WIN 12.26.12 FairGrounds [05:18]
The Bluff Man WON the 8th race at Fair Grounds on December 26th! What a nice Christmas present. Al pretty much called it. He entered Bluff MTO thinking that the race would come off the turf and it did. He thought the distance would not be a factor against this group many horses trying the turf as a last resort and it wasn't. He said the 2 week layoff would probably be just right as it would take the edge of and it did! The outside post actually did us a favor because Jumpin Jack Flash had to settle in behind the leaders and relax in third, then second going down the back stretch. Bluff was on the bit the whole way down the backside tugging the jock all the way to the head of the lane. When the time was right he launched his offensive and never looked back. Congratulations to all on our 2nd Victory at the 2nd best track in the US of A!
