One of Eliza's friends Peter Gordon is co owner in a small syndicate of 'Tickity Bleue' an exciting prospect for next season trained by Alan King . She was beaten on this ocassion by Glorious Twelfth from the Nicky Henderson yard; but had beaten it on her sole run previously at Newbury. The big tests is always Cheltenham to see if a horse copes with the hill; and also they were unsure about the soft going but she handled it well. The race was a 'bumper' - an introduction to racecourse action for future jumpers but on the flat; also known as a 'National Hunt flat race'. Tickity Bleue was giving weight to Glorious Twelfth (and the rest of the runners) because of the fact she'd won before; but the latter is a 5 year old. The last race of the day on a filthy afternoon; many racegoers had departed and as a result have probably missed two of the new stars of next season...

The Snail belies his name to enthuse the crowd at Howick beating Royal Ascot winner Baddam! [00:53]
At the first Howick meeting in february 2012 The Snail wins the Confined and the race gets the crowd excited....point to point is a great day out for the kids too as they can get close to the action and respond with enthusiasm! And what class horses - The Snail, a former successful Evan williams trained chaser under rules has a ding dong battle with former Royal Ascot 2006 flat winner Baddam.

Point to Point Howick: Molon Labe and Grandturgeon battle it out [00:24]
John Mathias and Jane Williams battle it out as they approach the last at Howick near Chesptow March 2012. Molon Labe is an exciting 5 year old chaser and his name refers to the Greek - "Molon Labe!"; "Come and Take Them!" - King Leonidas of Sparta's response to the Persians when asked to lay down their arms.
