Daddy Running Cruiser In the 1st Anual Dash Of Dad's Charity Calcutta [01:17]
The Chambers County Saddle Club, in Lafayette AL, Hosted the 1st Anual Dash of Dads Charity Calcutta Barrel Race July 2012. We had sponosors donate money for a jackpot then each dad was auctioned off to the highest bidder, that money was in turn added to the jackpot. Most of the dads are not familar with barrel racing, but have kids, wives, of family members that do. Each Dad rode for a different Charity, and the money they won went to the charity they chose to run for, the person who buys them has the option to keep there half or donate it back. This years winner was Danny Edmondson riding one of his daughters barrel horses, Cruiser. He rode for St, Jude's Childerns Hospital. In turn his daughter bought him in the calcutta and donated her half back to St. Jude as well. I hope to get the rest of the dads runs uploaded soon!

1979 Preakness Stakes [09:53]
Last Saturday afternoon at Pimlico following Spectacular Bid's 5-length victory in the Preakness, one could almost hear the flapping of wings as the last of the colt's detractors took off for parts unknown. Bid ran his best race yet. By picking up first money of $165300, he pushed his bankroll over $1 million to become the youngest millionaire in racing history, and he ran the mile and [3/16]ths in 1:54[1/5], the second-fastest time in a race that is 104 years old. Appearing to toy with four opponents, Spectacular Bid rolled easily to the finish line to a tremendous ovation from his owners' neighbors in Baltimore, where this handsome gray colt has now become as much of a hero as Brooks Robinson, John Unitas and the blue crab. With the first two legs tucked away, Spectacular Bid must now be considered odds-on to become the third Triple Crown winner in the past three years. On June 9, he will try to complete the sweep in the Belmont Stakes. The main question about that race is how many opponents the New York Racing Association can muster to run against him. There won't be a bunch. An hour after the Preakness, LeRoy Jolley, the trainer of fifth-place finisher General Assembly, reflected on what he had witnessed. "There were times when I had doubts about Spectacular Bid," he said. "No more. My horse couldn't have beaten him if he had cut through the infield. I've had enough of running against Spectacular Bid for a while. So has the General. Spectacular Bid's Preakness was ...

2003 Kentucky Derby: Full Broadcast [01:05:32]
There on the track was Empire Maker, the impeccably bred favorite with a tender foot, a cocky trainer from Brooklyn and a plurality of the public's money on his back. There was Atswhatimtalknbout, the Hollywood horse, partly owned by movie royalty, and there, too, was Indian Express, the rhythm-and-bluegrass colt whose owner was a legendary record producer in the 1950's. But for the two minutes that count the most on the first Saturday in May, the real star was a New York-bred gelding named Funny Cide, who was sent off at the ''yeah, right'' odds of better than 12-1 and romped off with a victory of a length and three-quarters in the 129th running of the Kentucky Derby. But forget for a moment Funny Cide's glitzier and supposedly more formidable competition. By any standard, this was an improbable victory. A New York-bred had never won the Derby, and the last time a gelding won was in 1929, when Clyde Van Dusen posted a two-length victory. The public was caught unawares, and six buddies from Sackets Harbor, NY, who own Funny Cide and run under the banner of Sackatoga Stable with four other partners were stunned by their good fortune. ''We are a three-horse stable,'' said Jackson Knowlton, one of the owners who bought the gelding for $75000 in a private sale. ''We are the little guys in the game. Everyone who dreams in this game, who owns two or five horses, look at what you can accomplish. Little did we know.'' Maybe it should not have been a surprise that a group of ...
