So I went riding yesterday and came out with some ok clips. Yes, before you ask I'm stil riding Amazonic. I'm not gonna let one little fall knock my confidence, I've been riding for too long to let that happen. Amo was being a total star until we came to the last fence of our jumping course. Once again, she refused. I wasn't happy as I'd thought she'd have got over it by now. The jump was around 2ft maybe? Yet she still refused. My instructor lowered it (not for my benefit, but for the horse's - which is the most important thing) and she went over it smoothly. I'm sure she has a slight fear about big fences but I'm not exactly sure why. But, oh well! Nevermind, it was still a great lesson. I actually got told to get into a "jockey position" which is basically just a jumping position without the jump, hehe. First in trot, then in canter. Amo was such a happy pony after her extended canter. Being an ex-race horse who can blame her? I bet she misses her racing days, eh? Furball reacts to : . Kentucky Derby 2012. I'll Have Another wins the Kentucky derby. Who won the Kentucky derby? Kentucky derby race I'll Have Another was ridden by Mario Gutierrez -- who was riding in his first ever Kentucky Derby -- trained by Doug O'Neil, and owned by J. Paul Reddam. Bodemeister -- who was the favorite for the majority week -- flew out of the gates and led for most of the race. I'll Have Another made his move from the middle of the pack during the final stretch, overtaking Bodemesiter with approximately 100 yards remaining. Today's win marks the first time in Derby history that the horse in the 19th pole position has won. I'll Have Another began the day with 12/1 odds.
