Champ Kart Onboard 12/31/12 - Providence / Feature Race [05:17]
Onboard footage of the Champ Kart Feature Race from the Dunkin' Donuts Center in Rhode Island. Tonight on New Year's Eve is the 5th Annual Coffee Cup and Race #2 of the Fatheadz Eyewear Indoor Karting Series. After locking into the Feature Race from the Heat Race, I started 15th out of the 26 karts that started. This race was a wreckfest. When the first caution came out, I nearly ran into Tim in the #15 kart. When another caution came out, I nearly ran into DJ in the #60 kart and was able to avoid him and the other karts that were involved in the accident. After the front runners were retiring from mechanical failues or crashes, I found myself in 6th place. I was having an awesome run and was trying to deliver Katie and Magic a great finish to give as a farewell gift since Puppy in my Pocket: Adventures in Pocketville was coming to an end today and was removed from the air by Boomerang. I had Katie and Magic riding aboard with me to keep me calm and try to have fun racing. The great run sadly came to an end on the final restart. Folowthemoneytrail Wins at Turfway Park [05:26]
FOLOWTHEMONEYTRAIL settled in hand four wide, moved up to engage the leaders leaving the turn, struck the front entering the stretch and edged clear. BREAK OF SILENCE made a long drive circling six wide, and continued on well to earn the place. GO BRAY BOO attended the pace off of the inside, bid between horses leaving the second turn, garnered a brief lead, weakened during the drive and settled for the show. SAVAGE VOW was close up four between horses, offered a mild bid but lacked the needed late response. BIG PICTURE GUY was unhurried into stride, came seven wide and finished with a belated gain. FIRE ANGEL settled saving ground, angled out leaving the second turn but passed only the tiring ones. MOMMA'S HAPPY bobbled at the start, recovered quickly and was forwardly placed three wide, but came up empty between horses on the second turn and dropped out. TIME TO ENGAGE lagged far back and was never a factor. DRAKE MANOR opened clear to set the pace, was headed nearing the five-sixteenths pole and stopped.
