Ami-Sky Barrels [00:53]
Amarillo Sky is a 19 y/o overo mare. She is built tall, about 15.5 hands, and she's built like a brick house. She gets compliments all the time on how well built she is. UTD on shots and coggins. She stands for the farrier, stands for shots, and will stand at the trailer all day. She is a big puppy dog out at the barn and will follow you any where. She knows all the playday events: barrels, poles, flags, and so forth. She runs 4D and sometimes 3D and has a beautiful pole pattern. She has a rocking horse lope and a pretty good stop. She direct reins and neck reins some. She's quite going into the arena but she does get on the muscle coming out of it. Won three buckles on her at Wrangler Riding Club, Red River Buckles Series, and Archer's Junior 4H competition. Would make a great lead line horse because of her personality, a step up horse for a younger kid who knows how to ride, or a junior needing a good solid playday horse. Just about anyone can ride her. Only reason for selling is that I'm training my younger horse for high school rodeo and Ami doesn't get attention any more. She's a good horse and I want to make sure she'll go to a loving home. You will not find a horse as solid and good tempered as her for this little. 3000 obo

New York Watch: Alpha [01:45]
When Kiaran McLaughlin entered Alpha in Saturday's seventh race, the trainer thought he had picked a difficult spot for the colt to make his debut. Not only was the race seven furlongs, it also featured well-regarded horses who had the benefit of a previous start. "[Alpha] drew down toward the inside, the 3 hole he had, and I was afraid of two who had already started [Invocation and Africanist] because seven-eighths is a hard distance first-time out," said McLaughlin. Alpha made those concerns moot by securing the fourth position up the backstretch, advancing into second on the far turn, reeling in the free-running pacesetter with three-sixteenths left, and needing only intermittent urging from jockey Alan Garcia to win by six lengths. The final time for seven furlongs was 1:23.97. "It was a 'wow' performance," said McLaughlin. "He ran huge. Everything went right for him and he won easily. We don't win that often first-time out, so that was nice." Alpha, a Darley Stable homebred, is by 2006 Champion Three-Year-Old Male Bernardini and out of the Nijinski III mare Munnaya, who won an English listed stakes. Munnaya has produced four horses with black type, including Mystic Melody, who in France captured a listed stakes and placed in two Group 3 events.

So You Think - The Curragh - Gold Cup (Group 1) 1¼m110y *Mick Kinane comments post race [04:54]
The first Group 1 of the year for older horses in Ireland typically attracted just a handful of runners, but we were treated to a superb performance from one of the top older horses currently in training; the pace was just fair. SO YOU THINK (NZ) produced a hugely impressive performance to gain his first Group 1 win in the Northern Hemisphere (sixth in total), without needing to improve on his previous form, taking over from his pacemaker early in the straight and powering clear for just hands and heels; stiffer tasks lie ahead, with the Prince of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot reportedly next on his agenda, but it will take something really special to lower his colours, especially at this trip, with races like the Coral Eclipse and Juddmonte International looking like obvious targets at this stage, though it has to be said he wasn't stopping at the finish here, so a step up to 1½m and a potential clash with Workforce remains a distinct possibility. CAMPANOLOGIST (USA) was well placed to win a pair of German Group 1s last year and may have to go on his travels again if he is to add to his tally, this improved effort still some way short of the standard normally required to win one of these races in Britain or Ireland, simply no match for the winner having been on that one's quarters turning for home. FAMOUS NAME came up short at this level once again, at a trip which is probably the upper limit of his stamina, unable to get past Campanologist in the final 2f; he will make ...
