Saratoga All Access: 12th annual Travers Celebration [02:59]
The 12th annual Travers Celebration -- the premier evening affair at Saratoga Race Course -- returned once again to celebrate the arrival of the 143rd edition of the mid-summer derby on Thursday, August 23. The official party of the Grade 1, $1 million Travers, the Travers Celebration supports the Backstretch Employee Service Team, the Times Union Hope Fund and its newest beneficiary, the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund. The elaborate event featured exquisite food stations and beverage offerings, a live and silent auction, and dancing to live music from the New York Players. Event attendees also had the opportunity to have their photo taken with the official trophy of the Travers. Recently appraised at $425000, the 18k gold permanent trophy of Travers designed by Tiffany & Co. is inscribed with all past winners' names. The Travers Celebration has raised more than $1.1 million for non-profit organizations in the thoroughbred industry and throughout the greater Capital Region since its inception over a decade ago. The 2012 Travers Celebration is co-chaired by Mr. George R. Hearst III, Publisher and CEO of the Times Union newspaper; and Mrs. Sharon Dominguez, wife of Ramon Dominguez, winner of the 2011 and 2012 Eclipse Award for Outstanding Jockey. The 2012 Travers Celebration is sponsored by Macy's, Ketel One Vodka, NEWS 10, the Times Union and The New York Racing Association, Inc.

Ready To Defer - 2nd AQU 11.23.11.avi [07:51]
Here is a look at our newest addition to the Parting Glass Racing Stable, Ready To Defer, the 2009 colt by Defer out of Ms. Readiness. Everybody watched him run in this race and we were all very impressed. This race proved he can go a distance even if the race comes off the turf. He is fast and versatile and like Bruce (Levine) says" He goes like a Cadillac!!" If you are looking to jump in on a proven runner and take advantage of some big purses, this could be the one for you. We'll see you at the races!
