Nascar - Daytona 2001 - Dale Earnhardt Fatal Accident [00:22]
On the front stretch coming to 3 laps to go, Earnhardt made contact with Sterling Marlin's front right fender. Earnhardt's car wiggled but Earnhardt kept control and he remained in third position. Marlin was known for having a fast car throughout the race, and Earnhardt repeatedly blocked his attempts at passing during the last few laps. With less than two laps remaining, Darrell Waltrip commented that "Sterling has beat the front end off of that old Dodge (Marlin's car) trying to get around Dale (Earnhardt)". Heading into Turn 3 on the last lap, Earnhardt was racing three wide with Marlin to his left and Schrader to his right. For reasons unknown, Earnhardt's car veered down. The left rear quarter of Earnhardt's car made slight contact with Marlin's front bumper. Earnhardt's car slid off the track's steep banking, onto the flat apron, and then turned sharply up the track toward the outside retaining wall. Although it briefly looked as though Earnhardt was going to avoid hitting the wall, the No. 3 car collided with the No. 36 Pontiac driven by Ken Schrader. Schrader's car hit Earnhardt's car just behind the passenger door, causing Earnhardt's car to snap, rapidly changing the angle of his car toward the wall.

Jet dryer catches on fire, halting the Daytona 500 on Lap 160 [00:34]
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The Daytona 500 is never without incident. But what happened 160 laps into the 54th edition of The Great American Race is completely unprecedented: Juan Pablo Montoya was racing around the track under caution, trying to catch up to the field, when he lost control of his car and crashed into a jet dryer that was blowing debris off the track. What ensued was something completely bizarre. Safety workers try to extinguish a fire from a jet dryer after it was hit by Juan Pablo Montoya at the Daytona 500. (Getty Images) Fuel poured out of the jet dryer, caught on fire and set a line of flames across the track rising some 20 to 30 feet into the air. Montoya got out of his car unhurt, while the driver of the jet dryer was taken to a local hospital. "I left the pits and I felt a weird vibration," Montoya explained. "We were on the backstretch and we really weren't going that fast. I could feel the car squeezing and when I told the spotter to take a look, the car just came right. "He was OK," Montoya said of the jet-dryer driver. "He just looked pretty scared." The fire was so intense Montoya's car immediately disintegrated and the race was red flagged as officials tried to put out the fire, which persisted for some five to 10 minutes. With the tires on the jet dryer completely burned off, officials needed a backhoe to remove it from the track. Dave Blaney, who's never won a Sprint Cup Series race in 397 starts, was the leader at the time of the incident ...

Billy - The third ride [03:12]
Hi everyone! So Billy is back in action again! I gave him the week off as he was a bit off colour from being kicked in the field, and the poor thing's feeties were a bit tender from being quite overdue for a trim. Been doing a bit of groundwork with the boy, starting to do a bit of lunging in the roundyard as we're not entirely sure of doing it on a lunge line as of yet, lol. You will notice there's quite a bit of work done in the walk in this video, sorry if it's a bit bland to watch, but that's what we do at home so you may as well see it in my videos! Most of the ride was done in the walk, lots of halt transitions in there, and once we had that down pat without a fuss we had a play in the trot and a brief canter just to see what he'd do! This week will be a lunging bootcamp week to try and get him a bit more balanced to improve the ridden flat work, and to muscle him up a bit too. I'll just touch on a couple of things, following my last video I got a TON of emails asking questions, so here are the main couple of things addressed! You will notice my hands are quite wide and I don't have a heap of contact. Looseish contact is because I'm more concerned with him moving freely forward, rather than jamming him into an outline. In my opinion it is better to have them forward and soft then in a frame and not going anywhere. Anyone can jam a horse up to try and make it look 'pretty'. I would rather have them working properly. I'm also not concerned with my position on a green ...
